2008/2009 League Constitution

Last updated: Tuesday July 22, 2008 12:45

AFC Constitution 2008-09 Final League Tables 2007-08 Constitution Letter (21st May 2008)

AFC Constitution - 9th June 2008 - The Constitution to be proposed at the AGM has now been published.

AFC Constitution - 21st May 2008 - Following a meeting of the AFC Constitution Committee, on 14th May 2008, we have agreed a draft constitution to propose to clubs, for approval at this year’s AGM.

Next season will continue with the present structure of 5 senior divisions, 3 regions, and 2 sub regions in the South. Unfortunately, due to a decline in the number of teams, we have lost 2 divisions; 5 West and 7 South East.

There are six new clubs next season, FC Tilburg Regents, Globe Rangers, Goffs Old Boys, Lea Valley, RBL Loughton AFC and Standard Chartered Bank. Chislehurst Sports have resigned from the league. The Constitution will consist of 101 clubs and 339 teams.

During our deliberations it was noted that several Clubs are running closed squad systems which is adversely effecting promotion and relegation. We have tried to avoid rewarding the more blatant examples.

We do remind all clubs that the League tends to lose teams during the close season so the Constitution is subject to adjustment.

As is our customary practice we welcome your comments. Should any club wish to comment on the proposal the Club Secretary should please contact
