AFC Constitution 2009-10 Final League Tables 2008-09 Constitution Letter (20th May 2009)

AFC Constitution - 1st June 2009 - The Constitution to be proposed at the AGM has now been published.

AFC Constitution - 20th May 2009 - Following a meeting of the AFC Constitution Committee, on 11th May 2009, we have agreed a draft constitution to propose to clubs, for approval at this year’s AGM.

The proposed constitution and structure are attached.

Next season will continue with the present structure of 5 senior divisions and 3 regions. Due to lack of teams in the SE, we have returned to a linear structure in the South.

There are three new clubs next season, Oakhill Tigers, Old Crosbeians and Old Grantonians. Malvern Chase has resigned from the League. The Constitution will consist of 102 clubs and 334 teams.

During our deliberations it was noted that several Clubs are running closed squad systems which is adversely effecting promotion and relegation. We have tried to avoid rewarding the more blatant examples.

I do remind all clubs that the League tends to lose teams during the close season so the Constitution is subject to adjustment.

As is our customary practice we welcome your comments. Should any clubs wish to comment on the proposal, the Club Secretary should contact Bob Coates by June 1st. We can then take your views into consideration in time to make recommendations to the AGM on June 19th. According to league rules clubs require 14 days notice of any proposed changes. Therefore we will not accept any proposals to change the Constitution at the AGM.

Bob Coates (Chairman, AFC Constitution Committee).
