2010-11 League Constitution Last updated: Saturday November 13, 2010 19:07
AFC Constitution - 14th June 2010 - The proposed constitution to be considered at the 2010 Annual General Meeting has now been confirmed. AFC Constitution - 23rd May 2010 - Following a meeting of the AFC Constitution Committee, on 10th May 2010, we have agreed a draft constitution to propose to clubs, for approval at this year’s AGM. The proposed constitution and structure are attached. Next season will continue with the present structure of 5 senior divisions and 3 regions. There is one new club this season; Somerville Old Boys. Centymca and Marsh have resigned from the League. The Constitution will consist of 99 clubs and 331 teams. During our deliberations it was noted that several Clubs are running closed squad systems which is adversely effecting promotion and relegation. We have tried to avoid rewarding the more blatant examples. As far as possible we have relegated all teams that finished in relegation positions, even at the cost to lower teams from that Club. Teams will not be promoted if they don’t finish their League program. I do remind all clubs that the League tends to lose teams during the close season so the Constitution is subject to adjustment. As is our customary practice we welcome your comments. Should any clubs wish to comment on the proposal, the Club Secretary should contact Bob Coates by June 1st. We can then take your views into consideration in time to make recommendations to the AGM on June 30th. According
to league rules clubs require 14 days notice of any proposed changes. Therefore
we will not accept any proposals to change the Constitution at the AGM.
Bob
Coates (Chairman, AFC Constitution Committee).
