Kick It Out

The Amateur Football Combination is pleased to announce we have agreed to support the ‘Kick It Out’ Campaign. We will be publicising it on our website and including links to Kick It Out and their ‘Weeks of Action’ which are taking place during October.

What Is Kick It Out?

Kick It Out works throughout the football, educational and community sectors to challenge racism in football and work for positive change.

The Kick It Out campaign was established over 13 years ago, and has grown ever since, being funded and supported  by The FA, the Premier League, the Professional Footballers Association and the Football Foundation.

If you would like to know more, visit the Kick it Out Website: http://www.kickitout.org

Why Is the AFC Supporting “Kick It Out”?

We know we have a huge diversity amongst our clubs and referees, and it’s right that one the biggest grassroots league in the country supports the campaign and demonstrates our commitment to its principles.

The aims and objectives of “Kick It Out” are embraced within our Spirit of Football initiative and the FA’s Respect programme and we support both.  “Kick It Out” is supported by the AFC’s Equalities Statement and Policy and publicising “Kick It Out” will help clarify our stance on racism – that it is unacceptable and will not be tolerated in AFC football.

How will “Kick It Out” affect us?

We think our support of “Kick It Out” will help our Clubs to recruit new players, the AFC to recruit referees and new clubs and encourage new volunteers by making it clear that the AFC’s commitment is to provide football for a huge diversity of people in an environment where racism in any form has no place.

Kick It Out Weeks of Action

Each year Kick It Out co-ordinates a ‘Weeks of Action’ event which is designed to promote equality.  The weeks have a strong community focus and play a role in celebrating diversity and inclusion.  Events take place up and down the UK supported by celebrities from the world of football.

This year the Weeks of Action take place between the 16th and 28th October under the banner of 'One Game, One Community'.  Last year, events were held on match days at all 92 professional clubs as well as those organised at grassroots clubs, schools and community groups.

We would encourage any club, referee or other participant to get involved.  Find out more about the Weeks of Action activities from the Kick it Out website: http://www.kickitout.org/649.php
